Summer Activites for Kids
Here is a list of activities for Fayette/Coweta area kids for the summer of '07. Thanks to Newnan's Jolene Brewbaker for sharing it with me!
Summer Classes for Children:
- LaGrange Art Museum - 30th Annual Summer Art Program - contact for specific information: 706-882-3267
- LaGrange - Variety of classes in May and July for children ages 6 and up
- Palmetto - Summer Camp at Serenbe - Saturdays in June and July - ages 5-12 years. $200 for 8 sessions.
- Camp with Jenni - Thursdays from 9:30 - 2 PM from May 31 - Aug 2; $40/class ages 4 and up
- Camp with Terri - Clay Hand Build 3 day session in June; Ages 5 and up
- Paper Mache and Paper Making in July; ages 5 and up
- Summer classes - June 4 - August 11th - 10 weeks of classes are $175, plus the yearly membership. Parent Child Classes include: Bugs (4-10 months), Birds (10-19 months), Beasts (19 mo -2 1/2 yrs), Super Beasts (2 1/2 - 3 yrs), Gymnastics, Karate, Dance and Sports Development (all ages 3 and up)
- Summer Camp with Weekly themes - 3 - 10 years old (Potty Trained) - 3 hours blocks ranging from $31/day.
- Babytime and Laptime (prior enrollment required) in the summer - days and time vary
- Crafts for Ages 7 and Up on Thursdays at 2 PM - call for details
- Special Performances on Tuesday mornings (either 10:30 or 9:30) and Thursday evenings (7 PM) - geared to children 3 and up and they ask for no strollers or baby carriers

- Camp Dates: Session A - Grades K – 2nd - June 18 - 22; Session B – Grades 3 – 5 – June 18 – 22; Session A – Grades K – 4 – July 16 – 20; Session B – Grades 5 – 8 – July 16 – 20. Time: 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Monday – Friday of each week listed.
- This is a great opportunity for young students to work in a variety of studio areas such as drawing, painting, pottery and mixed media. Art History will be incorporated to enhance each art project. A small exhibition will be held at The Centre in a small gallery space on Friday of each art camp week for parents and friends to view student work. Cost per week: $90; $15 deposit payable with application to hold a space in the class. Instructors – Jodie Hobbs, National Board Certified Teacher in Art Education with over 20 years experience; Carol Toole, National Board Certified Teacher in Art Education with over 20 years experience. - Disney's High School Musical all day theatre camp. Camp dates and hours are Monday-Friday, July 9-13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is $300 A deposit of $150 will be due when registering with remainder due June 1. This all-day camp will let your child experience private voice lessons, dance classes, theatre games and much more. They will also be learning a number to be performed as pre-show entertainment for a production of "High School Musical." All classes are taught by theatre professionals at south metro Atlanta's only full time professional theatre, The Legacy Theatre located just off Highway 74 in Tyrone. - Are you interested in art classes for you & your 3- and 4-year-olds? Consider a "Mommy & Me Art Class" or a "Mommy & Me Summer Art Camp." If there is enough interest in this area of young artists then the instructors will attempt to set up some classes. Call Bette Hickman at (770) 254-7345.

- Summer Day Camp for ages 5-12 - At the Temple Avenue Complex. Cost is $65.00, Registering now until full. Starting camp on Monday, June 4th
- Starting the weeks of June 18, June 25, July 16, July 23, Aug 6
- Preschool (ages 3-5) - $75/wk, Playschool (under 3) $12/day
- Ages 6 wks - 6 years - $75/wk
